This Acatenango Experience Is For You

Fuego doesn’t erupt on a schedule, and watching it throw lava into the night sky from a ridge at 3,600 meters is not something you can approximate anywhere else in the world.
We’ve built everything around that moment. The guides, the pacing, the cabins, the meals, the optional add-ons. Whether you’re sharing a cabin with your group or watching eruptions from a private room with someone you love, the experience at the center of it is the same: you’re sleeping on an active volcano while the one next door puts on a show.
Pick what fits how you travel. The rest we’ll handle.
- You want to experience Acatenango and Fuego up close, not from a distance
- You’re prepared for a moderately challenging hike with rewarding views
- You value guidance, safety, and local expertise throughout the journey
- You’re open to shared or private experiences, depending on your preference
- You want a structured trip where logistics are handled for you
- You’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime volcano experience, not a standard tour

"I've done Kilimanjaro and Everest base camp. The LHA guides on Acatenango are as professional as any I've worked with. The difference is they actually care whether you enjoy it, not just whether you summit."
"The 4x4 transfer was a total game-changer for my knees. We watched other groups struggling up the initial dust trails while we arrived at basecamp fresh and ready for the sunset. It's easily the best extra $135 I've ever spent on a trek."
"I was a bit nervous about the altitude, but having the private cabin to retreat to made a world of difference for my sleep. Even without running water, it was a massive upgrade from the shared cabins, cozy, quiet, and perfectly positioned for the sunrise. The guides were so patient with our group's pace, making sure we actually enjoyed the hike rather than just rushing to the top."
